The University of Lagos (UNILAG) spent the sum of 18 million naira on data for students’ examination during COVID-19.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, who stated this in an interview on Your View, a Television Continental (TVC) programme, monitored in Lagos, explained modalities deployed by UNILAG to run a successful session despite the challenges posed then by the pandemic.
He maintained that the University students in 100-200 level wrote virtual examination while those in 300 level and above were asked to resume in batches with strict compliance to COVID-19 protocols on campus to write their examination physically.

Ogundipe is marking his 4th Anniversary in office and he featured on the programme to show his score card.

Going forward, Professor Ogundipe rallied corporate and financial institutions to invest in research which, he said, is one of the key areas Universities can influence and solve the problems of the society.
UNILAG, the VC said, was able to develop a ventilator during the heat of COVID-19pandemic because of it deliberate investment in Research and Development.
